I have done a quick video review of the foundation but below I'll quickly list what I like and don't like about this foundation.

Several weeks ago, I was lucky to receive the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation from Beauty Heaven. Since then I've been using it quite often, nearly everyday. I've never used a Rimmel face product before, this is the first foundation I've used from the Rimmel brand. I have always seen the products but never bought it mainly because I've still had unused foundation. However I've always been curious and interested to see what the Rimmel foundations are like. I have done a quick video review of the foundation but below I'll quickly list what I like and don't like about this foundation.
Overall, this is a great everyday foundation which gives you enough coverage to even out your skin tone. It's not too heavy and does make your skin glow a bit.

I love Antipodes skincare. I've been using their skincare products for more than 2 years now. I first discovered them when I visited my sister in Wellington, New Zealand after she moved there in early 2013. I started out by trying the Avocado Oil & Rosehip DIvine Face Oil (which I will be reviewing in this post) and the Grapeseed butter cleanser (I'll post a review on this later on). Ever since my first purchase back then I got hooked and I have been using a lot of their skincare range since. In this post I will be reviewing 2 facial oils/serums from Antipodes: The Divine Face Oil which I mentioned above and the Joyous Protein-Rich Night Replenish Serum. Divine Face Oil – Organic Avocado Oil & Rosehip The Divine Face Oil claims that it has been scientifically shown to stimulate synthesis of collagen production in human skin cells by up to 51%. Itgives "a lift to tired, stressed, and sun damaged skin" by nourishing and fighting free radicals via antioxidants and help to reduce the appearance of lines, age spots and scars. Not only does it help improve your skin but the Divine face oil is also a natural sun filter. On the box it says "the component lutein absorbs and also filters UV light, offering additional sun protection from nature". The ingredients of the oil is a mix of several oils including avocado oil, macadamia nut oil, jojoba oil and rosehip oil. It also contains vitamin E and not only that it is a certified organic product. I've been using this oil for nearly 2 years. Daily use of the Divine face oil has made my skin feels more supple, healthy and hydrated. My daily routine involves applying 1-2 drops of the Divine Face Oil after cleansing and before applying moisturiser both day and night. It doesn't leave my skin greasy or oily and it keeps my very dry skin hydrated all day and night. I usually apply a few more drops at night time and in the morning I wake up with soft, smooth and hydrated skin. The oil definitely gives my skin that extra hydration boost that it needs especially in winter time. Pros:
Joyous Protein-rich Night Replenish Serum The Joyous serum is another serum I use in my daily skincare routine. Although it is called a serum it is a facial oil and it's very rich so I would only use it at night time.
The description of the serum states: An intensive oil-based silky serum that helps repair dry and damaged skin. Himalayan goji delivers up to 19 amino acids to replenish protein at a cellular level. Red raspberry seed oil blends with New Zealand blackcurrant, a rich source of essential fats like gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). South Pacific hibiscus flower and kiwi oil freshens your complexion, while berry fragrance imparts pure joy. The serum contains lots of good ingredients mentioned in the description above like blackcurrant oil, goj berry extract, raspberry seed oil, hibiscus extract and Reishi mushroom extract. This is another product that I have purchased since discovering Antipodes Nature products. I love using this serum in winter time when my skin is in need of intense hydration. I apply 2-3 drops at night time before my moisturiser and massage it into my face, neck and décolletage using upward strokes. I usually leave it for around 2-3 minutes to absorb then apply my moisturiser after. On days where my skin are not so parched and dry I skip the moisturiser and just finish with this serum. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels silky smooth and plump. Pros:
I was so excited when Urban Decay finally launched in Australia in Mecca Cosmetica stores last Friday 27 March 2015. Unfortunately the Canberra store did not get any Urban Decay products (even though it's the capital city). Nevertheless I resorted to online shopping as usual... it's good that Mecca has free shipping over $75. I love Urban Decay products, especially the Naked palettes and their 24/7 eyeliners. I have been using their products for several years which I got when I went to the US or ordered online. It's really good that it's finally here now and that the prices are quite reasonable. The price of the Naked Palettes (1,2 and 3) are AU$78 which is great considering in the US it costs US$54 + tax which is usually 7.5% which converts to AU$76.85 then you have to add shipping too. I've been lusting for the Naked3 palette since it was launched. I have the original Naked Palette and I love it!! It's the best and my most used neutral palette. I wasn't so fussed when Naked 2 came out because the colours were quite similar just cooler tones. However the Naked 3 is quite different, it has more pink/taupey tones. The colours in the Naked 3 palette from left to right are Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit. Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, and Blackheart. There are 2 matte colours similar to the original palette and the colours are called Limit and Nooner. I have only had it for one day so I haven't played around with it too much. However below are some pictures of the palette, some swatches and a look I did with the palette today. Like all Urban Decay eyeshadows the colours are so pigmented. The swatches are taken with one swipe so you can see how pigmented they all are. The packaging is a tin case similar to the Naked2 Palette and it feels very study. It is very different to the original Naked palette which i've carried around in my travels and still staying strong.
The palette comes with a double ended brush, a flat shading brush and a blending brush. I found the flat shading brush is a tiny bit smaller compared to the one that comes in the original Naked Palette. I didn't really like this as it didn't cover my whole eye lid when I applied the eyeshadow all over the lid. The blending brush is quite nice and it's handy to have both so you won't need to carry around extra eyeshadow brushes. Overall, I am very happy that I finally purchased the Naked3 Palette. I am sure I will make a lot of use out of this palette like the original one which is well-loved. I am a sucker for all things matte, whether it’s foundation, lip products or even nail polishes. So when the matte liquid lipstick craze started I welcomed it with open arms. If you’re new to the liquid lipstick game and want to start off with something a bit more affordable, then at £3 each the MUA Luxe Lip Lacquers are definitely worth a try. The lip lacquers come with a doe foot applicator which is great when you’re working with liquid lipsticks. When first applied the texture is smooth and all colors are extremely pigmented. It takes about 30 – 50 seconds for it to dry to a matte finish. Halcyon is a nude creme with a slight pink - orange tint.
It looks beautiful in the bottle but unfortunately not on me. Matches my skin tone too much and ends up making me look sick and pale - two things no girl needs! Best to use two coats as the first applied patchy in some places. Dries in about 40 seconds. Kooky is a deep purple aubergine. This is hands down my favorite color out of the bunch. Deep, rich purple with amazing pigmentation. Unfortunately it is also the most drying and started settling into the lines of my lips a couple of minutes after application. After an hour I noticed some flaking on my bottom lip. Same as Halcyon, needed two coats of Kooky as first coat was a bit streaky. Reckless is a bright red with blue undertones. I'm not usually big on bright red lips but I do like Reckless. It is chic and super easy to wear. Dare is a bright fuchsia pink with blue undertones. It is so flattering! This color will definitely suit most skintones. Final Verdict : Does settle into the lines of your lips and its best to reapply after eating and drinking, as it will form a visible line along the inside of your lips - this is especially the case with Kooky and Dare. It's also a bit of a nightmare to take off, as it flakes and you will need to rub it off (on a positive note, it does exfoliate your lips hahaha). But other than that, it's pretty great for a 3 Pound liquid lipstick. Just don’t expect an amazing stay-all-day product. 3 / 5 Stars I’m sure most of you are familiar with the concept of Beauty Boxes – but for those of you who aren’t, Beauty Box subscriptions are a fun way for us beauty lovers to get a special surprise each month! It’s pretty simple – you pay a certain amount in subscription (prices range from £6 to a more hefty £29.99 for limited edition and more high end boxes), and then you will get a box filled with beauty goodies sent to your door step each month! There are a lot of options out there, a quick internet search will list the many companies and different things they offer. Intrigued – I decided to give the concept a try three months ago. After some research I finally zeroed in on a French company called My Little Box. The first thing that caught my eye was the lovely design of the box. It screamed quality and impeccable presentation. My little box has an in house illustrator, Kanako - who makes the most beautiful drawings of chic girls. You will also find inspiring quotes with the illustrations, they are so beautiful you could frame them! Each monthly box is hand-picked and based around a different theme each month, and it is filled with beauty, fashion and life style goodies (we’ve had mugs, scarves or even a mobile phone case. The great thing about My Little Box is that most of the time they will give you full sized well-known products. They also have their own brand – My Little Beauty which come out with amazing product each month. Usually the boxes are worth around 50 - 60 pounds.
My Little Box also work with different fashion / beauty icons each month to create the perfect box (Dianne Von Furstenberg, Tsumori Chisato and Ines de La Fressange to name a few). Let me know if you want me to do a monthly review of the box. All in all I'm happy to admit that the arrival of this box is something I look forward to each month - cannot recommend this enough! Each box costs £11 + 3.95 P&P Website : http://www.mylittlebox.co.uk/home They say most women have the same problem, a cosmetic bag that's overflows but no clue what to do with all the products - I’m definitely one of them!
But no matter the trend or my current obsession, these are my trusted go-to products that will always be in my makeup bag 1. MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation NC42 I use this when I need a quick touch up during the day. My face can be quite oily and this product works wonders with oily skin! I gently blot my face with some tissue paper and then use I just use the sponge that comes with it to distribute it evenly. 2. Make Up For Ever Lipstick Mat 3 I love the texture of this lipstick. It’s a matte finish and long wearing but creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips. I find this color to be my perfect nude. 3. Sephora Cream Lip Stain Always Red It’s the perfect red. Enough said! 4. Revlon Colorstay Pencil Eyeliner in Black A black eyeliner is a must. This particular eyeliner is more than enough, it glides on very easily and it’s super black. 5. NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep Tan By now you must know I don’t like shiny things on my face. I wanna look sun-kissed everyday without all the shimmer that most bronzers have, and this is a great option for those of you who are like me. 6. The Body Shop Retractable Blush Brush I pick this particular brush out of practicality. It’s retractable and the bristles are okay. 7. MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power I see this blush color as a combination of pink and peach. On my face, it’s like I’m naturally blushing. 8. MAC Select Cover Up Concealer NW35 I need this when I’m too lazy to wear a foundation. I just use moisturizer, a good concealer for certain problematic spots, powder to seal and then I’m good to go! So those are my go-to make up bag musts, what are yours? No surprise – but it’s getting chilly here in London! The days are shorter, the sky is gloomy (for the most part) and all I want to do is have a nice bath with a good book, and later a glass of wine. So naturally my first stop this week was to Lush. Despite my obsession with baths, bubbles, and candles, I’ve never really been a Lush Fanatic (I know, shocking!). That is until recently when I bought an oh-so-yummy lip scrub from them, and I was reminded of how good their products can be.
So I went to the shop in Westfield’s Sheperds Bush (the ladies who work there are amazing by the way, super friendly and helpful without being too pushy), and left with a handful of goodies. I’m quite impressed with their selection of limited edition holiday bath bombs and melts. And as it’s the holiday season (and everything just seems more magical doesn’t it?) this can be the perfect present for your sister or friend who love to indulge in rich bath products. Northern Lights Bath Bomb £ 3.50 I’m going to start with this one simply because I love the name! I’m in love with all things stars and astronomy-wise, and seeing the Northern light is on my bucket lits, so naturally I had to grab this. It has a very clean scent, with jasmine and ylang ylang. The lady at the store told me it explodes in a blue color before going into a neon green and topping up your tub with stars. So White Bath Bomb £ 3.50 This has got to be my favorite scented bath bomb out of the ones currently in the shop. When I sniffed it I was like “yes please!”. It is a super delicate feminine scent of apple and a touch of rose, and as I’m writing this I can smell the bath bomb which is tucked away in the Lush bag on the other side of the room. It’s so so lovely that I wished I had bought two. Can’t wait to try it – thinking of maybe using it the night before Christmas, I love waking up and smelling super yum. Pop In the Bath Bubble Bar Slice £ 2.95 Pop in the bath is a bubble slice, which means instead of fizzing away in your bath the way the bath bombs do, you crumble the slice under running water and it fills your tub with lots of bubbles (Amen!) I’m pretty sure this isn’t part of the limited edition, so you can get it all year long. It has a very fresh citrus scent with touches of bergamot, lemon and mandarin – which sweetens it up. Snow Fairy Shower Gel £ 3.75 for 100g If you are a lover of sweet scents like me, then prepare to be blown away. This shower gel smells like bubble gum and christmas candies, yet it’s subtle and not over powering. The only downside of this shower gel is that it’s limited edition. I think I better stock up! Mask of Magnaminty Self-Preserving £ 5.50 for 125g I have read such great reviews about this mask that I just had to try. This is the new released self-preserving version, which means most if not all of the ingredients are natural. The site says it’s a multi-purpose mask with a mixture of gentle yet effective ingredients to clean, calm and clear the skin. Ever since I moved to London, my skin has been acting up, I’ve been getting dry patches and some spots, so I’m hoping that the honey in the ingredients and the mint properties with help with those two problems! Will definitely do a review once I’ve used this. Let me know what your favorite Lush products are! |
