1. Shopping
Tis the season to be jolly, merry and shopping! Not only are the shops super festive, but the window displays are out of this world. If you’re on a budget, just head on down for the atmosphere. I love going to Selfridges to just look around and having a snoop, you leave the store feeling all fluffy and warm.
2. Winter Wonderland
Grab your friends or significant other and head on down to Hyde Park for its annual event. I have gone to Winter Wonderland three times so far, and each time it feels different than the previous. It has fun rides, an ice skating ring, yummy food and plenty of mulled wine to keep you warm. Not to mention the numerous stands selling colorful gifts for those of you who love to shop.
3. Book – hunt
The cold weather is perfect for snuggling under a warm blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and good book to dive into. I have been reading back-to-back books for the past month (recommendations coming soon!) and scouring London for fun book finds. Head on down to South Bank Book Market on the weekend, they have a great selection of second-hand books for affordable prices. I found a couple of gems that I can’t wait to read! They also have vintage maps and paintings. If you’re more of a book collector, there are plenty of antique book stores around China town. From literary classics to the occult, you’ll find a great selection of stores to your liking.
4. Quench your thirst for art and history
London is home to some of the most amazing museums and galleries in the world. Some of my favorites are the Tate Modern at Bankside for your daily dose of art, the British Museum at Great Russel St to see a vast collection of world artefacts (from Egypt, Greece to Witchcraft), or the Science Museum for some great fun and learning!
5. Harry Potter – Hogwarts in the snow
Who doesn’t love Harry Potter? Step inside the great halls, see the iconic props and walk along Diagon Alley. Tickets can be booked at http://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/ . Don’t forget to have a Butterbeer for me!
